What is a True HEPA filter and what does that mean?
A True HEPA filter qualifies as HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air fitler) under U.S. government standards, which means the air filter must remove (from the air that passes through) 99.97% of particles and allergens including dust, smoke, pet dander, mold spores, and pollen that have a size of 0.3 µm (micron) or larger. Larger particles are caught while passing over the outer HEPA layer, while smaller particles are pulled further into the filter, becoming lodged within the tightly-woven fibers.
Brondell's woven carbon formula effectively reduces smoke, odor, and harmful off-gassing VOCs, including formaldehyde and benzene.
What certifications do your filters have?
Our O2+ air purification products are certified by nationally recognized industry standards associations such as the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), California Air Resources Board (CARB), Energy Star, and Edison Testing Laboratories (ETL) respective to their efficiency and performance. For complete details, please reference your unit’s spec sheet here.
How many cubic feet does your filter purify?
AHAM recommends that the air filter CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) rating, multiplied by 12, should be equal to or greater than the cubic feet volume of the room. Brondell’s smoke CADR rating is 157, therefore our recommended room size is 1884 cubic feet. However, the room can be a bit larger and the product will still perform very well, as CADR rating does not take into account other Brondell filtration methods (such as carbon, which reduces odor and VOCs).
Specific CADR ratings based on the unit are as follows:
Revive: 230
Horizon: 218
Brondell Pro: 221
What is the air coverage for your O2+ purifiers?
Specific exchange rates for each model:
Revive:
- Allergy Sufferers Use: 376.5 sq. ft. (5 Air Changes Per Hour)
- Regular Residential Use: 627.5 sq. ft. (3 Air Changes Per Hour)
- Humidifying Capacity: 350 ml/hr
Horizon:
- 280 sq ft (2 air exchanges per hour)
- 560 sq ft (1 air exchange per hour)
Brondell Pro
-
Up to 413 sq. feet at 4 air exchanges per hour
-
Up to 827 sq. feet at 2 air exchanges per hour
Do any of your systems generate ozone?
Our Horizon is equipped with an Intelligent Ion filtration mode which will trap positively charged ions, including irritants such as allergens, dust, and bacteria. This generates trace amounts of ozone when the feature is active.
Are the O2+ air filters recyclable?
Unfortunately, O2+ air filters are made from woven polyester fibers and are not recyclable at this time.
Where is it made?
