What is a True HEPA filter, and what does that mean?
A True HEPA filter qualifies as HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air filter) under U.S. government standards, which means the air filter must remove (from the air that passes through) 99.97% of particles and allergens including dust, smoke, pet dander, mold spores,, and pollen that have a size of 0.3 µm (micron) or larger. Larger particles are caught while passing over the outer HEPA layer, while smaller particles are pulled further into the filter, becoming lodged within the tightly woven fibers.
Brondell's woven carbon formula effectively reduces smoke, odor, and harmful off-gassing VOCs, including formaldehyde and benzene.
